Welcome to Antarctica. The White Continent. The 7thContinent - 8th by some standards. The only continent that lacks any indigenous people, that lacks any human history - save for the last 200 years or so.
And maybe that accounts for the magnetic draw it holds for some, for why else would people be enticed to visit, work, and sometimes play in such an inhospitable environment that at times more closely resembles another planet than our own.
About 110 billion humans have ever lived on Earth and only about 400 thousand have stepped foot on Antarctica – most within the last 50 years. Antarctic Chronicles is a collection of Antarctica photos and Antarctica travel stories by one of those humans.
It is a pristine wilderness to be preserved as such – a reminder of how our world once was.
